In a terrifying incident, a helicopter crashed on the roof of Hilton hotel in northeastern Australia. This tragic helicopter crash happened on Monday and caused the eruption of fire on the hotel’s rooftop. It has been reported that the helicopter was unauthorized, and in crashing, the pilot got killed as well. Moreover, the tragic helicopter crash forced hundreds of guests in the hotel to evacuate amidst fear and terror. The helicopter, a twin-engine propellor, crashed at around 1:50 am local time. Police authorities reached the spot in time and rushed to rescue the inhabitants of the hotel.
This video of the tragic helicopter crash has been circulating on social media in which one of the female hotel guests was heard saying, “They just flew into that building. Madness, man. Shivers. People were living in that. It smashed right in.” It should be noted that the helicopter crashed in such a way that its propellors just burst away from each other and spread on the hotel’s roof catching fire. However, the supervisor of the Queensland Ambulance, Caitlin Denning, stated:
“One landed on the Cairns Esplanade, and there was a second propeller located in the hotel pool on the bottom floor, and it was on fire.” She further said, “There were no injuries sustained by people on the ground”. Furthermore, the police, while giving details of the helicopter, stated that this was an unauthorized helicopter, meaning that it was not approved for safe flight take-offs and landings and was taken away from the Cairns airport hangar.
The police further claimed that the pilot had been dead and had not yet been identified. They further asserted the fact that there was no other person inside the helicopter besides the pilot, and the tragic helicopter crash only caused fatal injuries to two people in the hotel. One is a man and another is a woman who have now been discharged from the hospital after receiving appropriate medical treatment. Consequently, there is now no threat to public safety, the police officials said.
