According to the latest press release, Hezbollah, the Lebanese resistance movement, reported that a series of 30 Katyusha rockets had been released towards the Israeli base, breaching Israel’s iron dome system. The rockets targeted the 146th division in Giaton, causing a huge fire eruption in the western part of Galilee in the north of occupied territories. The targeted attack of Hezbollah on the Israeli military base has exposed the vulnerability of the iron dome system and depicted the hazard for Israel.
It shows that if this iron dome system had not been able to intercept Hezbollah’s missiles, then how would it be able to detect Iran’s attack if it happened?
It is pertinent to mention here that Hezbollah attacked Israel in response to Israel’s attack on civilian areas in southern Lebanon. Israel has also accepted the fact that its iron dome system didn’t intercept the missiles coming from Hezbollah. According to the statement released from the Hezbollah army, “The fighters of the Islamic Resistance on Monday, 12-08-2024, bombarded the newly-established command headquarters of the 146th Division in Jaatoun with Katyusha rocket barrages.”
It should be noted that Hezbollah has been continuing its retaliatory attacks against Israel as Israel has been hitting civilians in southern Lebanon and innocent civilians in Gaza since Oct 7th, 2023. On the other hand, Hezbollah has pledged to protect its country from the attacks of Israel by utilizing all its resources. They also claimed to take revenge for the blood of Fuad Shukr, one of the senior commanders of Hezbollah’s group along with Ismail Haniyeh, the top leader of Hamas.
According to the Secretary General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, “The occupying regime was incapable of defending itself and was fearful of the Islamic Republic and the resistance’s response to the assassinations.”
