The day, Aug 4, 2024, is being celebrated as National Police Martyrs Day across Pakistan. The day aims to acknowledge the sacrifices and efforts made by the devoted police officers and personnel of Pakistan in their line of duty. Throughout the country, special ceremonies are held to commemorate their efforts and honour their services. It should be noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also acknowledged the day and said that the steadfast devotion and ardent contributions made by the police personnel were exceptional.
He also reiterated the fact that the prevention and elimination of crimes and the development and formulation of security plans are remarkable feats for Pakistan. On Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police, PM Office Media Wing wrote, “In the fight against terrorism, the police force has always played a leading role, and police personnel lay down their lives to secure and brighten the future of the nation.” The office published this news in Urdu. Along with that, on behalf of the entire nation, he stated that every Pakistani is proud of the services rendered by police personnel, despite every challenging circumstance.
He also addressed the respected families of Shaheed Police Officers and said that it is entirely the responsibility of the government to look after them and to provide exceptional facilities for health and education. He also advised the authorities that no negligence would be tolerated in this subject matter. PM Shehbaz Sharif also recalled that he announced a big, historic package for the families of the martyred police officers on National Police Martyrs Day and personnel during his tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab.
The Prime Minister also stated that all the men and women serving in uniforms are government assets, and their sacrifices for their country will always be acknowledged. Hence, National Police Martyrs Day has been celebrated with unwavering zeal and enthusiasm across the country.
