The Hezbollah Israel conflict has now entered a new and intensified phase of war. After Hezbollah threatened Israel with a retaliatory attack, it actually brought this threat to reality after it fired dozens of Katyusha rockets towards Israel. This was a response to Israel’s attack on Kfar Kela and Deir Siriane in Lebanon, along with its strike on Beirut, which killed Fuad Shukr, who was a senior military commander of Hezbollah. The exact location disclosed by Hezbollah on which it fired the rockets today was “Beit Hillel” in northern Israel. The Middle East was already going through a lot of tension and instability, and after the retaliatory attack by Hezbollah today, the situation got worse.
Moreover, claims from Hezbollah say that their retaliatory attack has injured civilians in Israel, but on the other hand, the international media is denying these reports as it says no causalities or injuries have been reported so far. The US president, Joe Biden, had earlier expressed hope that “Iran would ‘stand down’ despite its threats to Israel”.
If we see the bigger picture of Hezbollah Israel conflict and the immediate repercussions of this retaliatory attack on the Middle Eastern region, we observe that the foreign ministries in Lebanon are urging their citizens to leave immediately. First of all, the US Embassy in Lebanon is making every effort to evacuate its citizens from Lebanon being the hostile region. The embassy has ordered its citizens to leave immediately on literally “any ticket available” from Lebanon.
It is pertinent to mention here that all the major airlines have suspended their flight operations from Lebanon, following the Hezbollah Israel Conflict, however, the options for domestic transportation are still available. As per the statement issued by US embassy, “We encourage those who wish to depart Lebanon to book any ticket available to them, even if that flight does not depart immediately or does not follow their first-choice route.”
Similarly, the UK embassy issued a notification saying, “Tensions are high, and the situation could deteriorate rapidly. While we are working around the clock to strengthen our consular presence in Lebanon, my message to British nationals there is clear — leave now.” Thus, throughout the world, a wave of fear has been generated due to the hostile condition prevailing in the Middle East.
