Today, on 14th Aug, Pakistan celebrated its 77th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. On the night of 14th Aug, an Independence Day Parade was held at PMA Kakul, which was addressed by the Chief of Army Staff. However, the day started with a 31-gun salute at the Federal Capital and a 21-gun salute at provincial headquarters. The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, then hoisted the national flag in the Federal Capital, Islamabad, to celebrate the day with devotion. Special prayers for the safety of motherland were also made in different mosques across the city to commemorate the national day.
It should be noted that the largest flag hoisting ceremony has been held at Sukkhur and the historic event was attended by the Divisional Commissioner Sukkur Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi, DIGP Pir Muhammad Shah, Deputy Commissioner Dr MB Raja Dharejo, SSP Sukkur Amjad Ahmed Shaikh and other officials. Slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” were continuously been chanted by the participants of the ceremony. Along with this, a special tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan has also been given by the chief guests of the event.
It is pertinent to note that the Pakistan Monument, Islamabad, hoisted the national flag ceremony. Moreover, a historic national day event has also been celebrated at the Governor House Sindh titled “Fard Nahi Qoom Hain Hum” (We Are a Nation, Not Individuals). A 1,000-pound cake was also cut to commemorate the event with excitement and fervor. Along with this, the country was lit with vibrant lights depicting green and white color of our flag.
On that note, the Independence Day of Pakistan has been celebrated with devotion and zeal. Speeches made in different events throughout the country highlighted the sacrifices made by our ancestors for a separate homeland. We should always be thankful for an independent state and work for the betterment of our country. Moreover, we should never forget our Quaid’s motto, i.e., Unity, Faith and Discipline.
