In a disturbing set of events, the interior ministry has extended section 144 in Islamabad and Punjab amid PTI protest. In addition to that, the ministry of interior has also deployed Army in the federal capital under Article 245 of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Army has been subjected to deal with the violent protestors and to start targeted operation among the protestors if deemed necessary as per the Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi.
Not to mention, the Rangers personnel have been deployed in various locations across the Red Zone, Islamabad in order to limit the movement of PTI protestors and to stop them from reaching D-Chowk, Islamabad. However, the PTI protestors, amid heavy shelling, are continuing their march towards D-Chowk. On the other hand, the talks between government and PTI are underway as Barrister Gohar and Barrister Saif from PTI held a 90-minute meeting with PTI founder, Imran Khan, yesterday at Adiala Jail.
In addition to that, another meeting of Barrister Gohar with Imran Khan also took place at late night yesterday at Adiala Jail. However, it is pertinent to mention here that the party chairman has not done any media talk after meeting with Imran Khan so the curiosity surrounds as what is going to be the result of this political tension between the government and the PTI. It should be noted that the whole country has been blocked by containers and it’s been three days that the situation remains the same.
The general public is facing extreme difficulties in their daily life activities. Also, the prices of the basic life commodities have been skyrocketed due to the roads blockage. The government has also announced the closure of educational institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi for the second consecutive day due to the prevailing situation. Moreover, the international politicians and journalists have also been directing the authorities in Pakistan to hold talks with the protestors and reach a solution to this conflict as maintaining law and order in the country should be the top priority of the government.
