A senior PTI leader, Sher Afzal Marwat’s expulsion news from Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf, has been making the rounds on the internet, sparking widespread discussions and questions about the validity of this claim. It has been reported that a notification issuing the suspension of Marwat from the party’s membership has been uploaded from PTI’s Twitter handle, which was further endorsed by PTI Additional Secretary General, Firdous Shamim Naqvi.
However, the notification reads: “The committee has come to the conclusion that Sher Afzal Marwat has no regards for the rules and discipline of the party and he considers himself above the party regulations, [which] consequentially badly affected the image of the party and party narrative. On the basis of the findings of the committee and his latest statements and complaints received, the committee has recommended the termination of his membership and the same has been approved by the founding chairman lmran Khan.”
On the other hand, citing the concerns for the notification issued, the PTI Chairman, Barrister Gohar Khan, has denied all such claims, regarding Sher Afzal Marwat’s expulsion from PTI as “fake.” He said, “The notification regarding cancellation of Sher Afzal Marwat’s membership is fake. It’s not possible.” Speaking to a news channel, he further stated, “If such a decision were made, I would certainly be aware, as I am the party chairman.”
Similarly, Sher Afzal Marwat also responded to the alleged notification through his own Twitter handle, “X”. He asserted, “I respect the party’s decision, but let me make it clear that I was and will remain Khan’s soldier, and I will make every effort to secure my leader’s release.” Therefore, the party is now divided whether Sher Afzal Marwat’s expulsion from PTI is real or fake, provided the fact that the news has been denied by the party chairman.
