In a remarkable feat, Pakistan’s first multi-mission satellite, PAKSAT-MM1 has become fully operational under the support and guidance of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). This marks quite an achievement for Pakistan’s space and digital industry. However, it should be noted that the operationalization of PAKSAT-MM1 will further revolutionize the IT industry of Pakistan.

Not to mention, the Pakistan National Space Agency (SUPARCO) has launched this satellite, PAKSAT-MM1 back on May 30th and it finally reached into orbit on June 5th. This is the country’s second communication satellite which has been stationed at an altitude of 38,786 km having satellite orbits trajectory at 38.2 degrees East.
It is pertinent to mention here that the move will provide services such as boosting internet connectivity, providing tele-education services as well as television broadcasting. Notably, the project aims to further boost the internet connectivity in remote areas of Pakistan which is also the government’s vision of refining digitalization in Pakistan.
Also, Pakistan has improved its ranking in United Nations E-Governance Developmental Index and has now come to 136th position from 150th position back in 2022. This demonstrates an improve in the ranking by 14 points hence, stabilizing the digital infrastructure in the country.
