In a recent development, the Pakistan Army troops have been called in the federal capital according to Article 245, Islamabad, to scrutinize the law-and-order situation ahead of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Islamabad on October 15 and October 16.

Following the prevailing situation, the Pakistan Army troops have arrived at D-Chowk and started patrolling across Islamabad and the suburbs to maintain law and order. However, it should be noted that the army troops will remain in the federal capital till October 17.

According to Dr. Shehbaz Gill, the troops of Pakistan Army are in the federal capital for the upcoming SCO Summit and they will never use weapons against their own citizens.

However, it is pertinent to mention here that a fake news has been circulating on social media that the troops of Army have been called in to arrest CM KPK, Ali Amin Gandapur, but in actual, they have been deployed for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Islamabad.

Another interesting thing to mention here is that the birthday of PTI founder, Imran Khan, is on October 5, and the PTI workers who are already gathered at the D-Chowk ahead of the PTI protest are celebrating it by cutting the cake.

The District President of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) Okara, Advocate Omar Bodla, has also made a special prayer for the party founder, Imran Khan, at D-Chowk during the cake cutting ceremony on the occasion of Khan’s birthday. It can be seen in the video below:

On the other hand, excessive shelling is taking place on the convoy of CM KPK, Ali Amin Gandapur, who is on the way to D-Chowk. However, the party leaders and workers are determined to reach the venue and are enduring the escalating situation.

Notably, at the Burhan Interchange, the police tried to stop the convoy of PTI protestors coming from KPK which further escalated the situation. The police fired tear gas shells on them as well while trying to disperse them. Also, the Islamabad authorities have sealed all the routes towards D-Chowk and Rawalpindi, cutting access for the PTI protestors to smoothly come at the venue of the protest.

However, the Islamabad police can be seen sitting on the footpaths after continuously throwing shells at the PTI protestors to resist them from reaching at the venue. But the PTI protestors are still coming with full zeal and enthusiasm and are participating in the protest at D-Chowk. A large number of people are still on their way to reach the venue along with CM KPK, Ali Amin Gandapur, crossing all the hurdles placed by the federal government.

It should be noted that people from all walks of life including political figures, social workers, poets and even retired personnel from Army are participating by helping people in the form of giving them water and other basic necessities.

A fake PTI notification has been circulating on the social media stating that the party founder, Imran Khan, has called off the D-chowk protest and said the party workers to return back. However, Dr. Shahbaz Gill, in his tweet on X, clarified the issue and regarded the circulating notification as “Fake Alert.”
