“Russia started this conflict. Russia illegally invaded Ukraine. Russia could end this conflict straight away.”
-UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer
Russian President Vladimir Putin has drawn a new “red line” when it comes to supporting Ukraine. He issued a warning that if the United States or its allies remove restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range Western weapons, it would mean Russia is “at war” with NATO. This latest statement from Putin came just before a significant meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, which took place in Washington on Friday.

Putin’s warning is aimed at Western countries and NATO that have been supplying weapons to Ukraine during its conflict with Russia. Right now, certain limits are in place, especially regarding weapons that can strike targets far from the battlefield. But if those limits were to be lifted, Putin suggests that Russia would see this as an escalation—essentially pushing Russia into a direct war with the West.
These guys are going to get us into WWIII — the warmongers’ dream since 1961. Finally, they have a President and VP happy to go along with it. https://t.co/FCjhki4u9M

While Ukraine relies on Western support to defend itself, Russia has repeatedly warned of consequences if that support crosses certain boundaries. After the meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the White House released a statement highlighting the key points of their discussion. According to the readout, both leaders strongly reaffirmed their “unwavering support for Ukraine” as it continues to defend itself against Russia’s ongoing military aggression. They also expressed “deep concern” over reports that Iran and North Korea are supplying Russia with lethal weapons, which is raising alarms worldwide.

Putin has said that long range missiles would be considered an act of war by the West, but I don't care.

As the war drags on, the U.S. and its allies seem to be becoming more open to the idea of allowing Ukraine to use long-range Western missiles to strike targets deep within Russian territory. This has been a goal of Ukraine for several months, as it seeks to weaken Russian forces and gain an advantage in the war. However, this possibility has enraged the Kremlin, with Russian officials warning of severe consequences if such weapons are used against them.
On the other hand, Putin responded by saying, “We are not talking about allowing or not allowing the Ukrainian regime to strike Russia with these weapons. We are talking about deciding whether NATO countries are directly involved in the military conflict or not.”
He further commented, “This will mean that NATO countries, the U.S. and European countries are at war with Russia. And if this is so, then, bearing in mind the change in the very essence of this conflict, we will make appropriate decisions based on the threats that will be created for us.”
Putin said that the permission for long-range strikes against Russia "will mean that NATO countries are directly at war with Russia."

Ukraine is gaining more support from several NATO countries to use their supplied weapons for striking targets inside Russia. Nations like the U.K., Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, Finland, and Poland have all expressed their approval for Kyiv to carry out attacks on Russian targets as it sees fit.
These NATO members believe that Ukraine should have the freedom to choose how and where it defends itself, especially after enduring months of relentless Russian aggression. By allowing Kyiv to target Russian military positions within Russia, these countries are showing stronger solidarity with Ukraine’s fight for survival.

The growing approval for such actions could provoke a sharp response from Moscow, as Russia has repeatedly warned against Western nations supporting attacks on its soil. As more NATO states signal their readiness to let Ukraine take the fight deeper into Russian territory, tensions between Russia and the West may escalate even further. Ukraine, however, views this support as essential to pushing back Russian forces and bringing an end to the war on its own terms.

Ukraine is starting to lose the media war as well, so now the Biden administration wants to arrest "disobedient" journalists.

On Thursday, Poland joined the growing chorus of countries supporting Ukraine’s right to strike deep into Russian territory with Western-supplied missiles. This announcement came during discussions in Warsaw with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, further solidifying Poland’s position as a staunch ally of Ukraine in the ongoing conflict.
But it seems like some of Polish ministers are against supporting Ukraine with long-range missiles. As Polish MEP Grzegorz Braun stated for Antony Blinken:

However, Poland, having long been a key supporter of Ukraine, also believes that allowing Kyiv to use advanced Western weaponry to hit targets inside Russia is a necessary step in weakening Russia’s military capabilities and defense lines. By adding its voice to these calls, Poland is aligning with other NATO members who feel Ukraine should have more flexibility in its military strategy.
