In a recent ranking of 100 notable alumni from Oxford University, Imran Khan has been positioned at number four. Interestingly, this recognition comes at a time when Khan has also applied for the position of Vice Chancellor at Oxford University. This dual achievement underscores his lasting connection with Oxford and his ongoing ambition to contribute to its legacy in a new capacity.

However, it’s important to note that while Imran Khan’s high ranking among Oxford’s notable alumni is a significant achievement, it doesn’t provide any indication about who will ultimately be selected as the Vice Chancellor of the university. The decision for this role is yet to be determined.

It’s important to note that an election will be held in late October for the Oxford Chancellor position at Oxford University. Over 250,000 graduates, along with former staff members of the university, will have the opportunity to vote online for their preferred candidate. This election is expected to be highly competitive, with a large and engaged alumni community participating in the process.
Regarding Imran Khan role as an Oxford Chancellor, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, said, “As Oxford chancellor, I would passionately advocate for Oxford, championing its values of diversity, equality and inclusion, both in the UK and abroad. I am committed to giving back to the world the resilience, determination, and integrity that life has taught me, even when the odds are stacked against me.”
Speaking to the Middle East Eye, the special assistant to Khan in former government, Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari, stated, “He is someone that has proved he stands up for justice, integrity and freedom. These are the principles he got from Oxford and they are what the university stands for.”
