In a latest development, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) has now announced that it has postponed its Islamabad rally today due to the NOC suspension. The decision came after the meeting of senior PTI leaders including Barrister Gohar Khan, Omar Ayub Khan and Azam Swati with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. The party founder, Imran Khan, has instructed the senior party leaders to postpone the rally as authorities have blocked roads and other routes. Therefore, an NOC of a new date of September 8 has now been given by official authorities to PTI in order to hold a rally in Islamabad.
It should be noted that the senior party leader, Ali Amin Gandapur, has also notified the general public about the delaying of PTI rally in a video message as shown below:
Party leaders, including Azam Khan Swati and Barrister Gohar, have confirmed the decision to postpone its Islamabad rally during a conversation outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Earlier, one of the senior party leaders of PTI, Ali Amin Gandapur, has announced in a video message that they will be going to hold a rally in Islamabad despite the NOC suspension. However, earlier today, the party shifted its course of action and decided to follow the government’s instructions, in accordance with the direction of the party’s founder.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Deputy Commissioner issued a notification in which it was stated that the No Objection Certificate (NOC) has been revoked due to the security concerns in the city as demonstrated by the District Intelligence Committee. Thus, PTI has postponed its Islamabad rally following discussions with authorities.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ali Nasir Rizwi, has also showed security concerns and stated that the Bangladesh Cricket Team is also on a visit to Pakistan and is currently residing in the capital, Islamabad. Hence, any political gathering could cause difficulties for the cricket team in Islamabad. Therefore, after receiving new instructions, the party postponed its Islamabad rally.
Hence, the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf is now going to hold a rally in Islamabad on September 8 and the NOC for this upcoming rally has also been given by the Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad to the party leaders.
