Punjab Govt Imposed Section 144 as PTI Leadership Gears Up For Protest At Minar-e-Pakistan

The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) has decided to set up a protest at Minar e Pakistan, Lahore, today on the call of the party founder, Imran Khan. However, at the same time, the government is trying every mean to place hurdles ahead of the protest. As per the reports, containers have been placed on the entry and exit points of Lahore in order to stop entering the PTI protestors into the city. The current situation of the city is escalating as the police is not letting people to reach the protest venue.

However, the PTI protestors are stepping ahead with full zeal and determination but the due to the strict crackdown on PTI protestors, the situation is becoming alarming.

However, it is pertinent to mention here that Punjab government has also imposed section 144 in the city and ban all type of public gatherings. On the other hand, the PTI leadership has instructed its party workers and supporters to not to come to protest at D-chowk and save their strength for the big powershow for the Minar e Pakistan, Lahore, protest today.

It should be noted that the Punjab government has instructed that section 144 has imposed in Lahore till Oct 8. The PTI Punjab’s acting President, Hammad Azhar has hoped for the PTI protestors to come in large crowds towards the protest location and reject the fascist government today.

The agenda of the protest will be to release their detained leader, Imran Khan, to make judiciary independent and to cut the inflation in the country.

A senior home department official stated, “Since the government has imposed Section 144, the police had been authorised to arrest protesters and those found marching in groups.”

On the other hand, the CM Punjab, Maryum Nawaz Sharif is holding meetings with the IGP, home secretary and the chief secretary and has instructed to launch a strict crackdown against PTI supporters and monitor their movements with a central control room established.

Also, the routes leading to Nawaz Sharif residence, Jati Umra, have been blocked by containers and the Minar e Pakistan has also been sealed from all the sides in order to stop protestors from reaching the venue.

Not to mention, the metro bus service has also been suspended partially in Lahore and over 10,000 security personnel have also been deployed in Lahore to monitor the law and order situation in the city.

The PTI leadership is determined and resolute in its plans to hold peaceful protests while its clashes with the government continue as the government is also showing resistance and putting hurdles to not allow the party workers to reach at the venue of the protests.

However, the zeal and enthusiasm of PTI protestors is continuously increasing as they are making their way for a peaceful protest at Minar e Pakistan but still, the shelling continues at the peaceful protestors.

It should be noted that heavy shelling has been started on PTI protestors and the protestors are using water to manage the effect of shelling on them.

However, the party leaders and workers are determined to reach the venue and are enduring the escalating situation.
