Today, at the United Nations General Assembly Session (UNGA), the Pakistani delegation depicted a strong protest against Israel’s bombardment on Gaza by walking out of the session when Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was invited to speak at the podium.
The Pakistani delegation including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif staged an all-out walkout from the UNGA session and showed a support for Gaza and Lebanon. It should be noted that Pakistani premier Sharif, during his speech, condemned Israel for its ongoing genocidal war in Gaza and Lebanon and hold Netanyahu for all the killings and devastations. PM Shehbaz Sharif labelled it as a “genocidal war and a humanitarian disaster”.
However, it is pertinent to mention here that PM Shehbaz Sharif has advocated for a two-state solution for Palestine at the UNGA session today, which Pakistan believes and urged the international community to put an end to this decades long war which many generations suffered and then got eliminated in the end. He also stated that Palestine should be given full right to represent itself as a full member of the United Nations as it is crucial for the safety of its rights.
At today’s United Nations General Assembly session (UNGA), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated, “Our hearts bleed as we witness the tragedy unfolding in the Holy Land. This is not just a conflict; it is the systematic slaughter of innocent people and an assault on the very essence of human life and dignity.”
He further said, “Can we remain silent while children lie buried under the rubble of their homes? The blood of Gaza’s children stains the hands not just of the oppressors but also of those complicit in prolonging this cruel conflict.”
On the other hand, Netanyahu, during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly Session (UNGA), stated, “As long as Hezbollah chooses the path of war, Israel has no choice, and Israel has every right to remove this threat and return our citizens to their homes safely. There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach. And that’s true of the entire Middle East. Far from being lambs led to the slaughter, Israel soldiers have fought back with incredible courage. I have another message for this assembly and for the world outside this hall: We are winning. We’ll continue degrading Hezbollah until all our objectives are made.”
While, as per statistical data released from the Palestinian Health authorities, it should be noted that Israel has so far displaced 2.3 million people from their homes, killed more than 41,000 innocent lives and it continues to increase the numbers while giving rise to the disease and hunger in the region.
